The Rollercoaster

Today is Tuesday.

If I make it through tomorrow, Thursday, Friday and Saturday; I’d like to think that I’ll be able to blog again next week.

You see, I’m moving. Houses. Right now I’m sitting on my couch, surrounded by boxes. It’s horrible.

A fashionista move is never easy. Magazines are heavy. Coffee table fashion books are heavy. Copious amount of shoes are heavy. And clothes take up A LOT OF ROOM.

Plus, I’m moving in with someone, who perhaps has slightly less shoes than me, and who just doesn’t understand the need for my sheer volume of footwear (and bags, and coats, and earrings… need I go on?).

I’m hanging for a vodka and a valium come Saturday night – but by then I will be comfortably set up in a beautiful townhouse, in amazing company.

A house with natural light, and a view, and a DISHWASHER.

With an entertaining area, and shiny polished floorboards, and an ensuite. Need I go on?

So just a few more days to get through.

And it will be worth it.

And in the interim, I have some shoes to get rid of. Any takers?

Oh, Paris

Because there is simply no other city…

Happy 3rd Birthday

Who would have thought the girl from the outer eastern suburbs (who is in possession of photographic evidence of a particularly unfashionable youth) would be the proud owner of a fashion blog, turning three today?

So, raise your glass and your fairy bread in a toast to my little slice of the web. Thanks to everyone who has been along for the ride – your support is invaluable and I (really) couldn’t have done it without you.

To all the friends I have made – and not just acquaintences, really amazing people who I am so lucky to have in my life – I am so thrilled to have you around, to share stories about shoes, the occasional whinge over wine or a champagne celebration. Thank you.

Keep reading, commenting, tweeting, facebooking, google plus-ing, pinteresting, instagramming and SHOPPING, among all that, with me. Thanks for being along for the ride that is my life!

Love,

Sarah xoxo

Obus Winter Coat Drive

The Ultimate White Shirt

Every girl loves shopping. The ones who tell you they don’t, are lying.

However, there is definitely an area of shopping that some girls hate – and its not bikini or jeans shopping.

Sometimes, a simple button up shirt is hardest thing to find.

Yep, your stock standard, boring work shirt is on the list of the hated. Why? Because its either too big on the bust; making the shirt look as though you are trying to hide a baby bump, or its too tight; exposing a bit of lace or a hint of flesh between gaping buttons.

Which is the dilemna that Jennie experienced and led to the development of the ultimate white shirt. Geisker was created as a way to bring together stylish design, a decent fit, french cuffs, italian fabric and overall class and sophistication.

Providing women with the opportunity to look good and feel fabulous every day, Geisker ultimate shirts are available online and come beautifully wrapped at an affordable price.

My favourite feature? Bonus buttons! Placed closer together than your standard shirt to prevent gaping (gasp) or unnecessary indecent exposure in the boardroom, I for one am grateful for the extra support.

Available in standard white (always a classic) and moving into contrasting collars and cuffs, the Geisker range of shirts are all a girl needs to maintain her professionalism, her integrity and her bank balance.

An Update. From Me.

I’ve said it before and I’ll probably say it again.

Just when you think you are getting your life under control, a curve ball comes out of left field and all of sudden you are trying to do too many things at once.

I sometimes wonder, perhaps my life wasn’t meant to be straightforward and simple. maybe I’m not meant to be idle, or sit still, or ever get more than six hours sleep a night.

Some people are always ‘on’, forever running at 100 miles an hour and full of energy.

Whilst I might not be full of energy at 6am, or if I am running low on caffeine, I do think I am one of these people.

Try as I might over the past few years, the quiet life is not for me. Everytime I try and make an effort to lower my stress levels and fly under the radar, a million things I want to do happen at once.

And, while I lie in bed at night wondering how the hell I am going to get everything done, I don’t think I want it any other way – even when I am still lying awake planning at 3am.

Right now, I am busier than ever. I have two part time jobs, multiple freelance clients, a social life, family and the need to occasionally paint my nails and have time for them to dry.

It’s mental. But I don’t want it any other way.

I am almost blissfully happy – so much so that I worry something awful must be just around the corner.

There are challenges, excitement, learnings, new people, amazing opportunities and something I have waited ten years for. I really could not want for anything at the moment.

However, there are only 24 hours in every day, and only 60 minutes in every hour. No matter how hard I try, time is the only thing I can’t change or get more of.

So for a little while at least, the Style Emporium needs to take a back seat to the work that pays for the trips to Paris.

But never fear – I am never far away, and always around on Twitter (@sarahstyle).
