Crossroads

It seems like last time I looked at the calender, it was September. Today, it is halfway through January.

If the age old, ‘time flies when you’re having fun‘ is anything to go by, I have been having a LOT of fun, but in reality, it just feels like stumbling through.

Life is an endless cycle of work, sleep and the stuff that comes between. But what happens when the work and sleep overshadow all the stuff in between?

I’ve been given a lot of advice in the past few days and I want to share a few of my favourites. Some are straight from the mouths of my friends, family and mentors – others quotes found online and in my travels that feel like they might be appropriate at the moment.

– You will always miss 100% of the shots your don’t take

– Life begins at the end of your comfort zone

– Don’t wake up one day and discover you forgot to achieve your dreams while you were busy at work

– Don’t doubt your own capabilities

– Stop being afraid of what could go wrong and think of what could go right

– No one ever gets anywhere without taking a risk or trying something new

– Failure is perfectly normal

– Every accomplishment starts with the decision to try

– There is nothing so scary as regret

– The hardest thing to face, is yourself

And so it is that 2012 takes a turn.
