NEON @ Strike

The party season continued this week with the launch of Ansell NEON at Strike QV on Monday. Yes, those are condoms.

Regular readers of this blog will appreciate I have no need for condoms (yes, I am really THAT single) but I’m not one to turn down a party so I recruited some fabulous single friends and off we went.

Strike is a bowling alley (for those not living close) and judging by the tightness of my muscles on Tuesday, I estimate it’s been about 20 years since I last went to a lane. Some muscles just were not meant to bend that way.

I came third in the round of bowling and I broke a nail (not to mention the hideous shoes I had to wear, AND the $5 I had to pay to buy socks!), then proceeded to lose at air hockey and spin out on the last lap at Daytona. Not really my 15 minutes of fame, was it? (I also feel my chances of picking up and needing aforementioned promotional products was greatly reduced with each loss).

But it was a good party. Models wore glow in the dark paint (and little else), glow necklaces and bracelets were the accessory du jour, and it’s very easy to laugh at yourself wearing a coral corporate dress and shoes that I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. At least the socks were Bonds.

I think I need to work on my bowling technique (and my air hockey and Daytona) but I’m definitely keen to do it again soon. And I am sure the bowling alley is a great place to meet guys, I just need to sort out something around the shoes…

If you have a significant other (or not, who am I to judge?), NEON look like a bit of fun. But just so you know, I haven’t tested them.
